THE HOUSEMATES  are easing themselves into a Summer of chaos, tantrums and, hilarity and those with the biggest dose of patience and ingenuity are the ones likely to see themselves through the course to have a chance of winning the £100,000 prize. Big Brother Odds

RODRIGO has been the favorite since the very beginning and has the sort of even temperament to carry him through to the end. HALFWIT's popularity has been a surprise to all, but all his public school eccentrities have been outweighed by his diplomatic skills, which whilst not appreciated by the housemates (he has already been nominated twice!),  2009 Big Brother Nominations have been recognized by the great British public.

Cheeky chappy CHARLIE IS safely ensconced as lovable court jester and SIAVASH having lost his twin (!) in week 2  BB10  Evictions Betting, finds cutting edge fashion status being usurped by his unlikely role as arbitor . KARLY and SOPHIE the stock in trade eye candy are easing comfortably into their role. MARCUS is enjoying the tasks but does not have as much self -knowledge as one might hope, he believes he is "The King of Cool ". SREE and ANGEL couldn't be further apart in temperament, the feisty Russian proffesional boxer, who has a penchant for a bit of sado- masochism could easily trounce the Indian Virgin whose flowery philosophizing and indignance has seem him move from house pet to house gnat.

NOIRIN seemed like the only real female challenger  this year, good looking, with a sense of reason and fairplay , but being pursued by SREE has lost some of her integrity , whilst her patience has to be admired. LISA, decent but with little charm or humour, is unlikely to stay for long and similarily KRIS whilst a bit of eye candy for the ladies is proving a little empty headed and uninspiring.

THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE

Every year the social experiment that has become Big Brother, the grand daddy of reality TV, is set in an environment that is designed to be as uncomfortable as possible for the inhabitants.  the rationale is that if the space in which the contestants are living is too comfortable then the interaction and drama will be less watchable for the viewing public.  Over the years, prison like bars and basic rations have tested the in mates and as they entered the house this year it seemed things were even worse with no furniture at all, no beds bedding or washing facilities.  The production team however have to tred a fine line between the housemates rebelling and accepting all the new challenges that Big Brother devises and it was only after the first weekend that the true nature of the house was revealed.  This year the house is in fact less disturbing than in the past, with a colour scheme of pastels and primaries and a pool, decent bathroom, kitchen and seating area.  Who will feel at ease in this micro world and who will need to break out ?  Check Out BB10 Free Bets

THE BIG BROTHER DUST MITE

Dominating the entrance to the Diary Room this year is an enormous photograph of  a dust mite or similar creepy crawly.  Does this have any significance ? Who Knows.

BIG BROTHER WEEKLY TASKS

Big Brother issues the Housemates with a weekly task which if completed successfully ensures the inmates will secure a luxury shopping budget of £5 per person per day.  If alternatively they are unsuccessful in their efforts they are reduced to a budget of £1 per person per day.  Clearly all housemates want to eat, smoke and drink as well as they can so being successful in completing the task is in everyone's interest.  Big Brother inevitably makes these as bizarre, humiliating and socially as divisive as possible to put pressure on the contestants and their relationships in the house.  Working together is key to success and ego s have to be reduced.  Those housemates who can work best under pressure for the common good will find themselves popular amongst the rest. BIG BROTHER 10 NOMINATIONS

There is no hiding the fact that with £100.000 prize money at stake winning Big Brother is advantageous to the successful contestant.  To achieve this end the housemates have to be as popular with their cohorts as possible so that they do not recieve any nominations to be evicted from the house.  Each week  each house mate can nominate two people to be ousted from BB giving reasons that seem comprehensive and laudable..  When all these votes are tallied the two cotestants with the most votes are then put up for the public vote.  Those popular in the house may not be popular outside and visa versa so there can be a lot of surprises on eviction night which is usually a Friday.

THE BB 10 DIARY ROOM

The Diary Room in Big Brother can act as Haven or Hell. The only interaction that occurs between the production team and the contestants is in this sound proof room. Housemates can use it as a confessional to get their emotions off their chest, Big Brother uses it as the place to give instructions for tasks or behavioural rebukes and often footage from the diary room has been fed into the house to throw the cat amongst the pigeons. Keep an eye out for the diary room footage it is a real indicator of the housemates nature.

THE BIG BROTHER CHAIR

Probably the most iconic part of any Big Brother design is the design of the diary room chair.  Each year the chair which is party to the most intimate and also often most raucous of vewing is the centrepiece of the programme. Like Captain Kirk,s console on the Starship Enterprise any hardened Big Brother viewer will be able to identify which of the ten Big Brother series is being watched by the chair's design.  The chair usually reflects the feeling of the whole house and the designs have ranged from sumptous to space like.  The only proviso for the design is that it takes up a substantial part of the screen and is subsantial enough for several housemates to balance on chair and arms.  For the first time this year the chair is not unique and can be purchased from the Conran Shop for £7,700.  They describe it as follows:

"Created in 1978 for the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, Proust was immediately recognized as an icon of twentieth century design and one of the most renowned and essential reference points in the quest for form and aesthetic perfection. Cappellini inherited the piece in 1993 and today Proust Geometrica, reupholstered in a new cotton fabric by Alessandro Mendini and hand-finished according to tradition, preserves the forms of the original armchair while refreshing them and breathing new life into the image and value of the original design."
