2008 Big Brother Results - Winner: Rachel
Big Brother 2008 or BB9 was the as the name suggests the ninth UK version of Big Brother running from 5th June - 5th September 2008. It featured over the course of its 13 weeks a total of 21 contestants who entered the house at various stages, Big Brother made two firsts this year in having its first ever blind contestant in Michael and its first ever couple Mario Marconi (whose real name is Shaun Astbury, he changed it to suit his image) and Lisa Appleton.
From the first week of the show there was controversy as Ofcom had received many complaints relating to bullying from the contestant Alexandra De-Gale these claims were initially brushed aside but on day 14 she was removed from the house due to her apparently making threats that people she did not like would be dealt with by her "gangster" friends on the outside.
More controversy soon followed when after a heated argument involving Rex Newmark and Jennifer Clark boiled over and ended up involving Dennis McHugh and Mohamed Mohamed, Dennis spat in Mohamed's face which led to Dennis being removed from the house.
