Davina McCall

"Big Brother House, this is Davina. You are live on Channel 4. Please do not swear."

These words are as iconic as the diary room chair, as integral a part of Big Brother as the nomination process itself.

Whilst Davina McCall attended The Godolphin and Latymer’s Girls School, whose alumni include Nigella Lawson, Kate Beckinsale andSophie Ellis Bextor, it was not until she started to front Big Brother that her presenting career took off. Several false starts included voice overs for ‘Top Gear’ and ‘Eurotrash’ and ‘Popstars-The Rivals’,but real success came with the reality show , now the two are synonymous and whilst there have been many rumours that she would leave over the years, nothing has ever come to fruition.

Her anorexia and drug/alcohol use have been well documented as has her relationship with Eric Clapton, but her very visible pregnancies over the past summers of Big Brother are an indicator of her now happy domestic life with Matthew Robertson, previous presenter of the TV show,’ Pet Rescue ‘

A real ambassador for the show her enthusiasm for the viewing and analysis of ‘ordinary folk’ never wanes and the recent loss of the live feed on BB9 saw McCall talking on ‘Twitter’, to support the hardcore Big Brother fans.

Whilst other projects like ‘Red Nose Day’ and ‘The Friday Night Project’ have occupied her and will again, it seems that her real T.V home is with Big Brother for as long as it runs.
